Azerbaijan set to evacuate 200 citizens from Qatar via Saudi Arabia

Azerbaijan is working to evacuate 200 of its citizens currently in Qatar through a special flight, the Spokesperson for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, Aykhan Hajizada, said.

He noted that due to Qatar’s closed airspace, the evacuation will be conducted via Saudi Arabia, Caliber.Az reports.

Regarding Azerbaijani citizens in Iran, Hajizada noted that depending on their location, land borders with Azerbaijan and Türkiye are being used for exit in line with Foreign Ministry warnings. 

“So far, 260 of our citizens have crossed into Azerbaijan. Those currently in the region are advised to closely monitor the security situation, follow instructions and recommendations from local authorities, avoid large gatherings, and enhance personal safety measures,” he added.
