Azerbaijan, Sudan discuss partnership on multilateral platforms PHOTO
On January 12, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Sudan's Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Muawiya Osman Khalid to discuss the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as international security issues.
Both sides emphasised the importance of political dialogue in developing Azerbaijan–Sudan relations and advancing their partnership within multilateral platforms, Caliber.Az reports via the Foreign Ministry.
They highlighted the significance of inter-ministerial consultations and mutual visits, Sudan’s active participation in COP29, and the country’s involvement in the upcoming World Urban Forum to be held in Azerbaijan this year.
The meeting also noted cooperation between the two countries within international organisations, including the UN, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
Energy and humanitarian cooperation, educational links, social services, and other areas of collaboration were discussed, with Sudan expressing gratitude for Azerbaijan’s scholarship programs for Sudanese students.
The talks concluded with political consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Sudan.
