Azerbaijan, Tajikistan discuss strategic partnership
Azerbaijan and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic ties during a meeting between parliamentary leaders from both countries.
Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova met with Faizali Idizoda, Chairman of the House of Representatives of Tajikistan’s Majlisi Oli, who is currently visiting Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the Azerbaijani parliament, Gafarova congratulated Idizoda on his election as chairman and thanked Tajikistan for its active participation in the International Parliamentary Conference marking the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Constitution.
The two sides highlighted the shared cultural and spiritual values linking their nations and stressed the importance of further developing these connections.
They also noted that Azerbaijan–Tajikistan relations have reached the level of a strategic partnership, attributing the progress to mutual understanding and the role of their respective heads of state.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
