Azerbaijan takes part in 11th global forum of UN alliance of civilisations in Riyadh Photo
Azerbaijani officials have attended the opening ceremony of the 11th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilisations, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event, which brought together global leaders, religious figures, and experts, focused on fostering mutual respect and understanding in a rapidly changing world.
The forum's opening ceremony featured speeches from key figures, including Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilisations and Special Envoy on Islamophobia Miguel Moratinos, Spain's Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration Elma Saiz Delgado, and former Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Azerbaijan was represented by a high-level delegation, including Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, Ramin Mammadov, and Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazada, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office.
The forum, held under the theme "UN Alliance of Civilisations: 20 Years of Dialogue for Humanity – Toward a New Era of Mutual Respect and Understanding in a Multipolar World," aimed to define future action plans for sustainable peace as the Alliance marks its 20th anniversary.
It gathered heads of state and government, leaders of international and regional organisations, as well as representatives from sectors including the private sector, youth, arts, sports, academia, and the media.
The 11th Global Forum provided an important platform for dialogue on building bridges across cultures and promoting peace in an increasingly multipolar world. The event highlighted the importance of continued collaboration among diverse sectors of society to address global challenges and enhance mutual understanding.
