Azerbaijan to commission power substation in liberated Jabrayil in May
The construction activities at the Jabrail substation are at the final stage and will be commissioned in May.
The announcement came from the Azerenerji company’s spokesman Teymur Abdullayev, Report informs.
The foundation stone of the substation in liberated Jabrayil was laid by President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva in May 2022 within the international project Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Europe.
According to him, Azerenerji has done a large amount of work on the construction of channels for underground communications at the largest 330-kilovolt Jabrayil hub substation under construction in Karabakh and East Zangazur, and has also built 330kV and 110kV outdoor switchboards and a Digital Control Centre: "More than 80 per cent of the work has been completed and is expected to be completed by May.
Abdullayev said most of the work to lay a 132km two-wire, 330kV high-voltage power line from the Aghjabadi substation to Jabrayil has been completed. "In parallel, reconstruction of the 330kV Aghjabadi substation, which will power the Jabrayil power unit, has begun, and work is also nearing completion here.
In addition, a 110-kilovolt transmission line between the 330-kV Jabrail power node and the 110-kV Gubadli substation is being completed at a distance of 12 km between the Jabrayil power node and the Gubadli substation to feed the 110-kV substations being built by Azerenerji in the liberated territories from an additional source.
