Azerbaijan to host FIA General Assembly meeting in 2023 PHOTO
The meeting of the General Assembly of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the award ceremony will be held in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku in 2023.
The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the FIA General Assembly held in Bologna, Italy, according to Trend.
Azerbaijan is represented at the event by a delegation headed by President of the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation (AAF) Anar Alakbarov.
Several countries, including Azerbaijan, applied for the right to host the meeting of the FIA General Assembly and the awards ceremony.
The candidacy of Azerbaijan was approved as a result of the voting. Thus, Baku will host this international event on December 4-8, 2023.
Representatives of automotive companies and prominent figures in motorsports from various countries will gather in Azerbaijan to participate in the meeting of the FIA General Assembly and the award ceremony.
The General Assembly, convened annually or on an extraordinary basis, is the FIA supreme governing body, consisting of automobile federations (clubs) representing members of the International Automobile Federation, as well as clubs operating in the field of movables.
The purpose of the event, which is held annually in different countries, is to discuss motorsports and various topics about the automotive industry.
Furthermore, the award ceremony (FIA Prize-Giving Ceremony) is considered one of the most prestigious events in motorsports.
The event, which has been held since 2011, is organised at the end of the FIA General Assembly. Various awards in the field of motorsports are presented.
