Azerbaijan to join first forum of regions in Tashkent
The first forum of regions will be held in Tashkent in November this year.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev made the remarks in an interview with the newspaper Vergilar [Taxes] of the State Tax Service under the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry, Trend reports.
"In recent years, there has been a positive trend in bilateral trade relations. In the first half of this year, the volume of trade turnover between the two countries increased by 83.7 per cent and amounted to $87.5 million. An agreement was reached to increase the volume of bilateral trade to $1 billion. To this end, a number of events will be held: in November, Tashkent will host the first forum of regions, an exhibition of products of national manufacturers of the two countries, and annual meetings of the Azerbaijani-Uzbek Business Council, and mutual trade missions will be organised. Work on creating a favourable environment for transit and bilateral transportation along the Trans-Caspian route will continue," Guliyev said.
