Azerbaijan to launch digital economy development strategy in 2025
Azerbaijan plans to begin implementing its digital economy development strategy in 2025, which outlines 51 initiatives aimed at benefiting citizens, businesses, and society.
Fariz Jafarov, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SİM), shared this information with journalists, emphasizing that key focus areas of the strategy include human capital development, promoting innovation, and digitizing business operations, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
"The work on the document has been completed, and it is expected to be presented to the government soon," Jafarov stated.
He believes that the strategy’s implementation will create favourable conditions for preparing a skilled workforce necessary for the digital economy. It will also encourage innovation and expand the use of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, including AI-based solutions.
As part of the strategy’s rollout, research and analysis will be conducted to assess and ensure the sustainable development of the digital economy ecosystem. A conducive environment will be established for the digitalization of businesses and the creation of new enterprises.
Digitalization of the economy, the establishment of the digital economy, and the application of innovations are priority issues for Azerbaijan. The favourable geographical position and human potential of the country, as well as state programs, decrees, and orders adopted by President Ilham Aliyev in recent years, create all conditions for this.
The preparation of the Digital Economy Strategy document will serve to form a sustainable and competitive digital economy in the country, to make Azerbaijan one of the leading countries in the relevant field, and to measure and develop the digital economy in a coordinated manner.
In addition, the document in question will be a national strategy document that will define development directions for all components of the digital economy, including digital infrastructure and services, legislation in the relevant field, availability of financial resources, and development of digital skills. At present, we continue our work on the preparation of the document.
