Azerbaijan trade data shows Italy, UK, Türkiye in top three
Azerbaijan’s largest trading partner in January–May 2026 was Italy, with bilateral trade totaling $4,9 billion, accounting for 23.27% of the country’s overall trade turnover.
Trade with Italy declined by 9.4% compared to the same period in 2025, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
The United Kingdom ranked second with a trade turnover of $3,5 billion, or 17.22% of total trade, marking a 6.9-fold increase year-on-year.
Türkiye placed third, with trade decreasing by 4.4% to $2,3 billion, accounting for 11.24% of overall turnover.
The rest of the top ten partners were: China – $1,8 billion 8 (up 4%); Russia – $1,3 billion (down 36.7%); Germany – $503,1 million (down 26.1%); Georgia – $482,2 million (up 46%); Greece – $428,3 million (up 19.6%); Bulgaria – $408,9 million (up 27.6%); and the United States – $384,5 million (down 30.2%).
Overall, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover in January–May 2026 decreased by 0.8% compared to the same period in 2025, totaling $20,7 billion, the state committee said.
As previously reported, Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover in 2025 stood at $49,4 billion, reflecting a 3.8% increase compared to 2024.
