Azerbaijan, Türkiye hold 17th high-level military dialogue in Baku
The 17th Azerbaijan–Türkiye High-Level Military Dialogue Meeting began in Baku on December 17, bringing together senior defence officials from both countries to review and expand bilateral military cooperation.
As part of the meeting, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Defence and Director General, Agil Gurbanov, held talks with a Turkish delegation led by Army General Levent Ergün, Second Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports via the Defence Ministry.
Gurbanov said relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye remain at a high level across all sectors, including defence, and stressed the importance of further deepening military cooperation for the benefit of both countries. Ergün noted that bilateral meetings and joint activities would continue to intensify, adding that the exchange of experience would be mutually beneficial for the two armed forces.
The discussions focused on existing mechanisms of military cooperation, with participants reviewing current practices and identifying areas for further development. At the next stage of the dialogue, sub-working groups assessed the state of bilateral military relations and exchanged views on priority areas for implementing future tasks.
The 17th High-Level Military Dialogue Meeting is scheduled to run until December 19. During this period, additional sessions of the sub-working groups will be held at Azerbaijan’s International Military Cooperation Department and the National Defence University.
