Azerbaijan, Türkiye strengthen military education ties with new collaborative initiatives

On December 3, Rector of the Azerbaijani National Defense University, Maj. Gen. Gunduz Abdullov and a delegation headed by Chairman of the Turkish Defense Industry Academy, Professor Cenk Aktas exchanged views on the issues related to military education.

The Turkish delegation was briefed on the history of the National Defense University’s establishment, its education system, and key activities, as well as the successful reforms in Azerbaijan's military education sector, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.

During the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of further expanding efforts in this sphere and joint project implementation.

The National Defense University of Azerbaijan was established in 2022 and is primarily located in Baku. The university is modeled after the Turkish National Defense University, aiming to align the structure of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces with that of the Turkish Armed Forces.
