Azerbaijani ambassador to Netherlands makes presentation on COP29 agenda PHOTO

Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Rahman Mustafayev has delivered a speech at The Hague Conference on Climate and Security about the agenda of COP29, which will be held in Azerbaijan in 2024.

“Was pleased and honoured to attend The Hague Conference on Climate and Security, co-organised by Erasmus University, the International Institute of Social Studies + Humanitarian Studies Centre, and to make presentation on COP29 agenda, Azerbaijan’s efforts in creating fair and inclusive process of discussion and preparation for COP29, our policy and achievements in the field of energy transition,” Caliber.Az reports citing the diplomat’s message on X.

Baku will host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

A group of Eastern European countries has chosen Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to host COP29 climate talks next year.

Earlier, Bulgaria withdrew its candidacy to host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in favour of Azerbaijan.

Moreover, Baku and Yerevan agreed to support each other at some international venues. In a joint statement, Armenia said it would support Azerbaijan's bid to host the COP29 summit.

The conference is being held in rotation by five UN regional groups, and Eastern Europe will take part next year.
