Azerbaijani Centre: Double standards in Western media - obvious today
Double standards in Western media are obvious today.
“The Western media are actively pursuing a policy of double standards today,” Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijani Centre of Analysis of International Relations Farid Shafiyev said, according to Report.
Shafiyev made these remarks during the presentation of the report “South Caucasus-Middle East Region: Geopolitics and Cooperation”.
He noted that after the end of the second Karabakh war, Azerbaijan faced a number of challenges, including biased coverage of the situation in Karabakh by Western journalists. However, Azerbaijan strives for peace.
“Both during the years of occupation and after it, Saudi Arabia was one of the countries that supported Azerbaijan,” the chairman noted.
Shafiyev said that a similar bias can be observed towards Saudi Arabia. The US and UK are currently fighting against the Houthis, but when Saudi Arabia was fighting, it was criticised for it.
The presentation was made for a delegation of representatives of the teaching staff of the National Defence University and the Saudi Arabian Command and Staff College, led by Abdullah Mohammed Hamdan.
