Azerbaijani Defence Minister, Baykar CEO discuss expansion of joint production Photo
The Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, welcomed Haluk Bayraktar, the CEO of Türkiye's leading technology firm Baykar, during his visit to Azerbaijan.
The meeting, which took place in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, focused on enhancing military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports per Defence Ministy.
Both sides underscored the importance of expanding joint production initiatives driven by technological innovations.
A wide-ranging exchange of views followed, exploring the current state and future prospects of military-technical collaboration between the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Colonel General Hasanov presented Mr. Bayraktar with the "For Services in the Field of Military Cooperation" medal, recognising his contributions to strengthening bilateral ties in the defence sector.
On March 13, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence Industry, Vagif Mustafaev, awarded a special licence to Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar, enabling the company to commence operations for Bayraktar Teknoloji Azerbaijan.
The meeting, centred on enhancing collaboration between Azerbaijan and Baykar to advance the nation's defence sector.
Baykar has gained international recognition for its role in advancing drone technology, and its UAVs have been deployed in various military conflicts, enhancing Türkiye's defense capabilities. In addition to military drones, Baykar also focuses on developing autonomous systems and other advanced aerospace technologies.
The company’s products have been pivotal in elevating Türkiye’s status in the global drone market, with exports to various countries, particularly in regions like the Middle East and North Africa.
