Azerbaijani deputy foreign minister hosts Somali ambassador for diplomatic talks
Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, Yalchin Rafiyev, and non-resident Ambassador of Somalia to the country Fathudin Ali Mohamed, have discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations as they met in Baku.
During the meeting, which took place in Baku, the two diplomats discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral diplomatic relations between Somalia and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The talks focused on fostering closer ties and enhancing cooperation between the two nations in various areas of mutual interest.
The Somali Ambassador highlighted the significance of the meeting as a step toward deepening diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of Fathudin Ali Mohamed on November 1, 2024.
President Ilham Aliyev acknowledged the significant potential for expanding cooperation in trade, economy, and other sectors.
The ambassador mentioned that bilateral cooperation is becoming stronger day by day. He touched upon collaboration in the fields of science and education, noting that many students from Somalia studied in Azerbaijan during the Soviet era and expressing interest in continuing these traditions.
