Azerbaijani embassy in Iran may soon resume operations Statement by Iranian official

There is a unanimous opinion over the resumption of the operations of the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran, Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanani has said.

Kanani made these remarks at the press conference, while answering a question about the resumption of work of the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran, APA reports.

“The Azerbaijani official [representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on special assignments Khalaf Khalafov] visited Tehran. The visit was a continuation of negotiations between officials of the two countries. Positive negotiations and consultations were held. Both the Azerbaijani and Iranian sides expressed their views on the latest events in the Caucasus and the region. There is a unanimous opinion regarding the resumption of work of the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran. As part of ongoing discussions and successful steps, the embassy may soon resume its activity in Tehran. There is a good atmosphere and trend in bilateral relations between Iran and Azerbaijan,” he noted.
