Azerbaijani FM holds meetings on margins of Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels.

FM Bayramov met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, the ministry made a post on its X account, Report informs.

The ministers discussed areas of strategic bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as regional efforts to maintain peace.

During the meeting, the FMs hailed the development of brotherly and strategic allied ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

The sides emphasized that the ongoing successful cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral formats has made an important contribution to regional development, particularly in deepening cooperation in trade, energy, security, transport, science and education and other areas. The importance of developing transportation corridors in the region was underlined.

Bayramov also informed Fidan about the normalisation process of relations between Baku and Yerevan.

The sides exchanged views on other regional and global issues of mutual interest.

At a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the sides focused on the regional situation.

The ministers exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in the areas of economy, transportation and communications.

The FMs also discussed preparations for COP29 and the situation in the region in the post-conflict period.

Meanwhile, FM Bayramov’s meeting with UK's Minister for Nuclear and Renewables Andrew Bowie focused on prospects for cooperation in renewable energy field.

“On the sidelines of Nuclear Energy Summit-2024, FM Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Andrew Bowie MP, Minister in Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to discuss prospects for cooperation in renewable energy field, actions taken by Azerbaijan towards green energy transition and Azerbaijan’s COP29 Presidency priorities,” the post by ministry says.
