Azerbaijani FM receives outgoing Russian ambassador PHOTO
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov in connection with the completion of his diplomatic tenure in Azerbaijan.
Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az that during the meeting the sides noted with satisfaction the fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation and prospects of its development. It was underlined that the bilateral relations are dynamically developing, reaching the level of allied cooperation.
Jeyhun Bayramov expressed gratitude to Mikhail Bocharnikov for his contribution to the development of Azerbaijani-Russian relations, his professional activity, and his support for the effective resolution of the issues and wished him success in his future work.
Mikhail Bocharnikov, in turn, expressed gratitude for his friendship and cooperation during his work in Azerbaijan.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
Azerbaijan and Russia have strategic partnership relations, and political cooperation between the two countries has significantly increased over recent years. Mutual visits of the heads of the two states have given an important impetus to the development of Azerbaijani-Russian relations. Diplomatic relations were established on April 4, 1992. The embassies of the two countries were opened in 1992.
