Azerbaijani language to be taught at Turkish elite university
Azerbaijani cultural centers abroad are carrying out initiatives aimed at promoting and teaching both Azerbaijani national culture and the Azerbaijani language with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
The Azerbaijani Cultural Center at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Türkiye is launching a new project to offer Azerbaijani language courses at one of Türkiye's largest and most prestigious institutions, Caliber.Az reports citing AZERTAG.
The courses will be offered at the Azerbaijan Studies Center within the Gazi University in Ankara. In addition to language lessons, activities such as reading days, film screenings, and discussion clubs will be organized. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet prominent Azerbaijani figures, public leaders, and cultural personalities, engaging in discussions in Azerbaijani about the country's achievements, culture, and other relevant topics.
The Azerbaijani Cultural Center has announced that the language courses will be offered free of charge by experienced teachers. These courses will be included in Gazi University’s online registry of "optional but recommended" courses. There are plans to expand the Azerbaijani language courses in the future and integrate them into the academic curriculum at other higher education institutions.
Teaching materials, publications, and resources will be provided by the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Türkiye. The courses will incorporate modern teaching methods, utilizing information technologies, including audio-visual materials, dialogues, and films. Students who complete the courses successfully will be awarded a joint official certificate from both the Azerbaijani Cultural Center and Gazi University.
While the courses will be open to all Gazi University students, they will also be available to students from other universities, interested individuals, and foreign students studying in Türkiye.
