Azerbaijani MoD warns Armenia, its backers of consequences over recent provocations Yerevan intends to escalate conflict

The Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan has issued a statement in response to recent Armenian provocations involving the use of heavy weapons in the Kalbajar region and quadcopters in Tovuz.

The statement warns Armenia and its allies of the consequences of such actions, Caliber.Az reports citing the ministry.

The ministry declared, “We warn Armenia and its allies of the consequences of such provocative actions. These provocations are not a new occurrence; they have become a recurring issue. The military exercises conducted by the United States in Armenia, the supply of lethal weapons to Armenia by France, and the provision of military aid by the European Union through the European Peace Fund, amounting to ten million euros, encourage Armenia’s provocative behaviour and suggest preparations for further conflict with Azerbaijan.”

The statement further cautioned, “We urge Armenia and its patrons to refrain from creating new sources of conflict in the South Caucasus. Should these provocations against our country continue, we will take appropriate retaliatory measures in self-defence using all means available in the arsenal of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.”

The ministry concluded, “All responsibility for any escalation in the region will rest with the military-political leadership of Armenia and its supporters.”
