Azerbaijani MPs to appeal to President Aliyev regarding dissolution of parliament PHOTO
Another meeting of the board of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party was held on June 20.
Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani ruling party, Head of the Central Administration Tahir Budagov noted that the parliamentary elections must be held according to the Constitution of Azerbaijan in November 2024, during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and other important international events, Caliber.Az reports citing the message on the official website of the party.
“The process of organising both the elections and the mentioned events at a high level is of great importance. Moreover, the feasibility of full-fledged work of the country’s parliament during this period should be taken into account. We think that in the current conditions, the Azerbaijani parliament must take the initiative to dissolve the country’s parliament and hold the elections earlier, giving priority to the country’s interests,” the message says.
A unanimous decision was made to recommend the MPs representing the New Azerbaijan Party in the Azerbaijani parliament to initiate an appeal to the President of Azerbaijan to dissolve the Azerbaijani parliament of the sixth convocation and set the date of the snap elections.
