Azerbaijani parliament speaker visits consulate in St. Petersburg

Azerbaijan's Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova visited Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in St. Petersburg during a working trip to Russia, according to the Azerbaijani parliament’s press service.

During the visit, Gafarova presented the consulate with books dedicated to the life and legacy of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s national leader, Caliber.Az reports.

An official reception marking Azerbaijan Independence Day was later held at the Consulate General.

According to the press service, speakers at the event highlighted the significance of Independence Day for Azerbaijani statehood, as well as the country’s development and achievements since gaining independence.

The celebration concluded with a concert programme featuring prominent Azerbaijani artists.
