Azerbaijani Prosecutor General visits territory destroyed by Armenian missile attacks in Ganja
The Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev, visited the territory where the terrorist attack committed by the Armenian armed forces took place during the Second Karabakh War.
Aliyev visited the memorial complex in Victory Park and got acquainted with the territory destroyed as a result of the Armenian missile attack. There, as a sign of respect for the memory of civilians who died during the Armenian terror, he laid flowers around the destroyed houses, APA reports.
The Prosecutor General was informed that the second largest city of Azerbaijan, Ganja, located outside the front-line zone, was shelled by heavy artillery and missiles from Armenia a total of 5 times. It was also noted that as a result of missile attacks, historical and religious monuments of Ganja, educational and healthcare institutions were damaged.
To recap, the Armenian Armed Forces on October 4, 5, 8, 11 and 17, 2020, at different hours of the day, fired at Ganja with Tochka U, Smerch, Grad and other missiles.
As a result of the missile strikes, 26 people were killed, including six children and teenagers, 142 people received injuries of varying degrees of severity, including 29 children, four children from three families lost both parents, significant damage was caused to more than 3,900 residential and non-residential areas city, as well as about a hundred vehicles.
The Ganja Memorial Complex will be created based on the presidential order to perpetuate the memory of the residents of Ganja who lost their lives as a result of the war crimes of Armenia. The foundation of the Memorial Complex to be built on Alakbar Rafibeyli Street was laid during the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Ganja on January 30, 2022.
