President Ilham Aliyev’s recent address at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York carries profound significance for the international community, said Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, during a plenary session of the Parliament.
Gafarova underscored that the president’s remarks resonated well beyond regional concerns, reflecting Azerbaijan’s growing geopolitical relevance on the global stage, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“In his address, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the strategic importance of demining the liberated territories, ensuring their reconstruction, and enabling the safe and dignified return of former internally displaced persons to their native lands,” she noted.
Gafarova further highlighted the president’s call for reforms in the system of international relations, stressing that his vision reflects the broader need for a more equitable and effective global order.
“President Aliyev clearly stated that Azerbaijan’s role and influence extend far beyond the region, positioning our country as a key player in shaping the future of international cooperation,” Gafarova added.
