Azerbaijani, Swiss foreign ministries exchange views
Another round of political consultations between the Azerbaijani and Swiss foreign ministries was held in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku on February 9.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev while the Swiss delegation was headed by Assistant Secretary of State of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Head of the Eurasia Division Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Muriel Peneveyre, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The prospects for the development of relations between the two countries in the political, economic, energy, transport and humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation issues within international organisations were discussed during the meeting. The views on the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Azerbaijan this year, were exchanged. This event will open up new opportunities for the development of cooperation.
Peneveyre was informed about the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the steps taken by Azerbaijan to establish lasting peace, the mine problem and the ongoing large-scale reconstruction work in the territories liberated from occupation.
