Azerbaijani, Turkish ministers strengthen strategic alliance at defence exhibition PHOTO

Azerbaijani Defence Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler during the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX) at the Baku Expo Centre on September 24.  

First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, Deputy Minister of Defence, Director General Agil Gurbanov, Acting Deputy Minister of Defence, Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, Advisor to the Azerbaijani Minister of Defence, Colonel General Bakhtiyar Ersay, Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Army General Metin Gürak, Navy Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, Commander of the Land Forces, Army General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Air Force Commander, Army General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci and other officials attend the meeting, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.

The meeting emphasized that the Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations are founded on friendship, brotherhood, and a strategic alliance. Participants expressed satisfaction with the current cooperation in military, military-technical, military-educational, and military-medical spheres.

They also engaged in a thorough exchange of views on the prospects for bilateral relations, regional security, and other pertinent issues. Hasanov met with a delegation led by Mr. Haluk Gorgun, President of the Secretariat of Defense Industries under the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. This meeting included heads of several prominent Turkish military industry companies and fostered confidence that joint military-technical projects would significantly enhance the defense capabilities of both nations, while exploring new spheres for collaboration. 

The discussions also highlighted the importance of expanding joint production through technological innovations, with attendees praising the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX). Several contracts regarding military-technical cooperation were signed at the conclusion of both meetings.
