Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received a high-level delegation from Türkiye led by Mehmet Samsar, Director General for Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Baku on August 1.
The meeting focused on strengthening the alliance between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, cooperation within multilateral frameworks, and addressing regional and international security concerns. Both sides emphasized the importance of such reciprocal visits and inter-ministerial consultations for thorough discussions on bilateral and regional matters, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov and Samsar highlighted the significance of enhancing collaboration between the two nations within trilateral and multilateral formats, particularly through international and regional organizations like the Organization of Turkic States.
Minister Bayramov provided an extensive update on the ongoing process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He outlined the challenges impeding the peace process, including Armenia's constitutional claims on Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the actions of third countries that are fostering Armenia's militarization and undermining regional stability.
Bayramov emphasized that these threats obstruct peace and stability, regional cooperation, the development of regional transport links, and the overall normalization of the regional situation. He underscored the necessity of eliminating these threats to ensure a stable and prosperous future for the region.
