Azercosmos generates $16.4 million from exporting satellite services
Azerbaijan’s space agency Azercosmos exported satellite services worth $16.4 million in the first eleven months of 2025, according to official data.
Figures published in December by the Centre for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) show that export revenues from satellite telecommunications services fell by 3% compared with the same period last year, Caliber.Az reports.
Between January and November, Azercosmos provided services to companies in 41 countries, down from 50 countries over the same period in 2024.
The United Kingdom was the largest importer of Azercosmos’ satellite services, accounting for $4.2 million of exports. It was followed by Luxembourg with $3.2 million, Sweden with $1.1 million, Türkiye with $772,000, and Nigeria with nearly $760,000.
In November alone, the agency exported satellite services worth $1.5 million to 35 countries, the data shows.
Export revenues accounted for 66% of Azercosmos’ total income, underlining the importance of foreign markets to the agency’s business model.
Earlier figures indicate that in 2024, Azercosmos earned $18.5 million from the commercial operation of its satellites, a 6.6% decline compared with 2023.
Azercosmos operates Azerbaijan’s national satellite fleet and provides telecommunications services across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and parts of Asia.
