Baku, Bishkek sign military cooperation plan for next year
Azerbaijan's Minister of Defence, Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov, met with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Lt-Gen Baktybek Bekbolotov.
The meeting took place at the Kyrgyz Ministry of Defence, where the defence ministers reviewed a ceremonial honour guard. The national anthems of both countries were played, accompanied by a military band, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
During the meeting, the parties discussed enhancing military, military-technical, and military-educational cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. The ministers exchanged views on regional security issues and other topics of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a bilateral military cooperation plan for 2025 was signed between the ministries of defence of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, marking a significant step in strengthening defence ties between the two nations.
To recall, Hasanov paid an official visit to Kyrgyzstan on October 22 at the invitation of Bekbolotov.
Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan have been strengthening their military cooperation in recent years. They have signed bilateral military cooperation agreements and conducted joint military exercises.
