Baku court continues hearings in case against Armenians accused of war crimes

The Baku Military Court continued hearing testimonies on Monday in the criminal case against several Armenian citizens accused of committing crimes against peace and humanity.

During the session, statements of victims and their legal successors, who were unable to attend the hearing for valid reasons, were read out, per Azertag.

According to the testimony of victim Nadir Badir oglu Seidov, a driver at the Road Transport Department No. 1 of Azəravtoyol, his excavator hit a landmine planted by Armenian forces in the Zangilan district on November 19, 2021, injuring him and another worker, Renad Aghababayev.

Another victim, Baykishi Musa oglu Zeynalov, testified that on September 27, 2020, a shell fired by Armenian armed forces struck his home in the village of Garadaghli, Aghdam district, wounding him and rendering the house uninhabitable.

Further testimonies revealed that Mehman Fikrat oglu Hasanov was injured on September 19, 2023, after an Armenian-fired shell exploded in Mollalar village, Aghdam district, while Huseyn Mahir oglu Guliyev was wounded the same day near Janyatag village, Aghdara district. Another victim, Imran Elman oglu Hasanli, was injured in shelling toward the Aghdara district on September 20, 2023.

Legal successor Siafar Ali gizi Farzaliyeva testified that her son, Samir Vagif oglu Farzaliyev, was killed on September 27, 2020, while another legal successor, Mirmehdi Ismayil oglu Ismayilov, reported that his son died on October 2, 2020, near the village of Sugovushan in the Tartar district.

The Armenian citizens are charged with numerous crimes, including crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, preparation and conduct of aggressive war, genocide, violation of the laws and customs of war, terrorism, financing terrorism, and the violent seizure and retention of power.
