Baku talks to strengthen Black Sea Bank's regional role, says finance minister
Baku has become a key platform for discussions on the future priorities of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), a development expected to strengthen the institution's role across the region, Azerbaijan's Finance Minister Sahil Babayev said.
Speaking at the 28th Annual Meeting of the BSTDB Board of Governors in Baku, Babayev said hosting the event reflects Azerbaijan's strong partnership with the bank and the country's continued commitment to regional cooperation, integration, and sustainable development, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"We are pleased to host this important event and are confident that the discussions held here will help define the bank's future priorities and further strengthen its role in the Black Sea region," the minister said.
Babayev also referred to the BSTDB Annual Report 2025, noting that it demonstrates the Black Sea region's resilience despite ongoing global uncertainty.
According to the report, the region's economy grew by 2.9% in 2025, while the bank's member states overall maintained sound macroeconomic fundamentals, underscoring the region's economic stability amid challenging global conditions.
