Belarusian president calls Russia “guarantor of a just world order”
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated President Vladimir Putin and the people of Russia on Russia Day, describing the country as a leading global power and a guarantor of a “just world order”.
In a message published by the Belarusian presidential press service, Lukashenko said Russia was a “confident and advanced state” with strong economic and defence capabilities, and said it played a stabilising role amid global change.
He added that Belarusians and Russians had “always stood shoulder to shoulder” throughout a shared history, and said the two countries’ long-standing ties provided “inexhaustible energy” for continued cooperation.
“The Russian Federation is … a guarantor of a just world order amid global transformation,” Lukashenko said in the statement.
Lukashenko wished Putin good health and success in leading the country, and extended greetings of happiness and prosperity to Russian citizens.
