China commends Azerbaijan for lifesaving evacuation support
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has formally extended its appreciation to Azerbaijan for its crucial role in facilitating the evacuation of Chinese citizens amid escalating tensions in Iran.
At a press briefing, Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun acknowledged the invaluable support provided not only by Azerbaijan but also by several other countries, including Iran, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Türkiye, Iraq, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, and Jordan, Caliber.Az reports via Chinese Foreign Ministry.
“During the evacuation, countries, including Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Türkiye, Iraq, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt and Jordan, offered China valuable support. We express sincere appreciation for that,” Guo stated.
According to official reports, as of June 21, over 740 Chinese nationals were successfully evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan via the Astara border crossing. The collaborative efforts of the involved nations ensured the safe and orderly transit of Chinese citizens out of the conflict-affected region.
