COP29 priorities to be highlighted in Copenhagen
COP28 President Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber will discuss steps to combat climate change in the context of the upcoming COP29 at today's climate ministers’ meeting in Copenhagen.
"Sultan Al Jaber will lead the COP28 delegation to the climate ministers' meeting in Copenhagen. Together, they will discuss the progress made and further ambitious climate action based on the UAE consensus and together with the “COP presidencies troika” (UAE, Azerbaijan and Brazil) towards COP29," the official X account of COP28 says, Report informs.
Climate leaders and ministers will gather on March 21 for the first major meeting since COP28 last December to discuss expectations and priorities for the next UN climate change conference in Azerbaijan.
The meeting will be co-chaired by COP28 President Sultan Al Jaber, COP29 President-designate Mukhtar Babayev and Denmark’s Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy Dan Jørgensen.
