Deputy FM: Azerbaijan fully prepared to support Türkiye in COP process
Azerbaijan is fully prepared to show its support for brotherly Türkiye within the framework of the COP process, Deputy Foreign Minister and COP29 Chief Negotiator Yalchin Rafiyev stated.
In an interview with Azertag, speaking about the special edition of the journal World of Diplomacy, Rafiyev also noted that Türkiye has begun preparations for COP31, Caliber.Az reports.
“This special edition also provides an important opportunity to remind states of the commitments they have undertaken ahead of COP31,” the deputy minister added.
Rafiyev emphasised that publishing the journal’s special release at this stage holds both unique and symbolic significance. Azerbaijan has already handed over the COP presidency to Brazil, making this a timely moment to recall and evaluate the contributions and legacy it has left in COP history.
Highlighting that World of Diplomacy regularly covers current topics in foreign and global politics, Rafiyev pointed out that this special edition focuses on the legacy inherited from COP29. The edition features the positions and activities of President Ilham Aliyev, First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
World of Diplomacy is the official quarterly journal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, published continuously since 2002. It serves as a high‑level platform for analysis, commentary and research on international relations, diplomacy, international law, global politics and regional issues, particularly those involving Azerbaijan’s foreign policy and strategic interests.
The journal is produced under the authority of the MFA’s Foreign Policy Planning and Strategic Studies Department, and it’s published in Azerbaijani, English and Russian to reach both domestic and international audiences. Its issues combine theoretical and practical perspectives on diplomatic trends, multilateral processes, peace and security, and regional cooperation.
Over the years, World of Diplomacy has reflected Azerbaijan’s evolving foreign policy priorities and provided commentary on global developments, hosting contributions from scholars, diplomats and policy experts. It has also issued special editions focused on major topics — for example, editions dedicated to Azerbaijan’s chairmanships, international organisations, or thematic diplomatic initiatives such as the Turkic Council.
In 2025, the MFA marked the 20th anniversary of the journal with an international roundtable in Baku and Shusha, bringing together foreign ministry representatives, think‑tank experts and journal editors to discuss diplomatic publications and strategic analysis in contemporary international relations.
