Deputy FM highlights Azerbaijan’s green energy transition policies at 23rd Doha Forum
On December 6–8, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev visited Qatar to take part in the 23rd Doha International Forum, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan told Caliber.Az.
During the forum, Rzayev addressed a panel session on climate diplomacy, highlighting Azerbaijan’s green energy transition policies and the use of alternative energy sources.
He detailed the country’s accomplishments during its chairmanship of COP29 and emphasised Azerbaijan’s contributions to COP30, held in November in Brazil.
Rzayev also spoke about ongoing activities within the international “COP Trio” climate diplomacy format.
As part of his visit, the deputy minister met with the leadership and faculty of Lusail University, as well as officials from the International Center for Political Studies in Qatar. Discussions focused on Azerbaijan’s active foreign policy, bilateral relations, initiatives within international organisations, the restoration of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, normalisation of relations with Armenia, and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
