Envoy: EU aims to further expand ties with Azerbaijan
The European Union is committed to deepening relations with Azerbaijan and expanding people-to-people connections, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Marijana Kovačević said at the “EU and Youth: For a Sustainable Future” event.
In her remarks, Kovačević emphasised that the EU has recently launched several educational initiatives in Azerbaijan aimed at boosting cooperation and fostering mutual understanding between societies, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the event, the ambassador underlined the importance of youth engagement and praised the contribution of the Young European Ambassadors (YEAs).
"We are working to strengthen ties between the EU and Azerbaijan and to build bridges between people. I would like to express special appreciation to the Young European Ambassadors [YEAs], who serve as such a bridge. They are doing a very important job in Azerbaijan," she said.
Kovačević also highlighted the significance of women's participation in diplomacy, stressing that diversity leads to better outcomes.
"We will talk about the role of women in diplomacy. As a woman ambassador, I highly value inclusiveness and diversity. When women participate in diplomatic processes, we achieve greater success," she noted.
