Europe secretly preparing aircraft and air defence deployments near Russian border Defence official claims
European countries are reportedly preparing to secretly deploy aircraft and air defence systems along the border with Russia, with movements of aircraft from the United Kingdom and France already recorded, Andrei Kartapolov, head of the State Duma’s Defence Committee, told Russian media.
According to him, these activities are occurring under the pretext of alleged Russian airspace violations.
Earlier, several NATO members claimed that Russia had violated their airspace and reported incidents involving unmanned aerial vehicles. Moscow dismissed these allegations as unfounded, suggesting they could be provocations.
“They (the Europeans) don't have the guts yet, of course, to do anything more serious,” Kartapolov said regarding the drone incidents. “But we must understand that, perhaps, under the cover of this chatter, there is a secret deployment and preparation for the redeployment of aircraft and air defence systems to the border with Russia or Ukraine. We are closely monitoring the situation and have already recorded the movement of a number of aircraft from France and the United Kingdom.”
Kartapolov criticised the leadership of modern Europe, asserting that “anything can be expected… because it is run by completely irresponsible politicians who do not care about their own citizens.” He singled out Hungary, Slovakia, and Serbia as exceptions, adding, “All the rest are puppets of the EU. Whatever they are told there, either in Brussels or London, is what they will do.”
The Duma official further dismissed the value of engaging with European leaders, stating that “talking to European leaders and explaining anything to them is completely pointless and useless.” He concluded, “Their level of intelligence is extremely low, and their level of unscrupulousness, unfortunately, is unimaginably high.”
