FM: Türkiye suceedes to minimise Ukraine war impact, prevent sanctions
The Turkish authorities were able to minimise the impact of the Ukraine war on the country and prevent sanctions.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in an interview with journalists in Antalya, Anadolu reports.
"Thanks to the policy implemented by Ankara for many years, the international image of our country has strengthened and its reputation has increased. Modern Türkiye is the country that most actively raises its voice against the manifestations of growing xenophobia, racism and Islamophobia in the world. Today, we are ranked 5th in the world in the development of digital diplomacy. The main thing is that we have rediscovered the spirit that moved us for six centuries on three continents to achieve justice," the Turkish minister said.
The foreign minister noted that thanks to the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, the "tourist capital" of Türkiye has established itself as a world centre of diplomacy.
Antalya has hosted 13 important international events in recent years, such as the NATO and G-20 meetings, he recalled.
"The number of higher educational institutions in Antalya has reached five. In the near future, we plan to increase the number of universities to 10. Antalya is also a popular medical tourism destination. There are 18 large public hospitals in the southern province. The construction of the Antalya Central Hospital, designed for 1,400 beds, has been completed by 80 per cent, and in a few months this medical facility will also be put into operation," Cavusoglu said.
The minister expressed confidence that the investments will turn Antalya into one of the world centres of health tourism.
