Türkiye vows to help rebuild Gaza and secure peaceful future for Palestinians

14 October 2025 09:51

Head of the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate Burhanettin Duran has said that Türkiye will continue to assume responsibility for the reconstruction of Gaza, providing a peaceful and secure future for Palestinians.

He made the remarks commenting on the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit, attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“The summit became an important turning point for the diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and establishing regional peace and stability,” Duran said in a post on X, Caliber.Az reports.

He noted that during the summit, Erdoğan once again demonstrated Türkiye’s firm stance based on peace, justice, and human values, emphasising the importance of a two-state solution as the foundation for lasting peace.

Duran recalled that under Erdoğan’s leadership, Türkiye had been conducting intensive diplomatic efforts to end Israel’s actions in Gaza, protect civilians, and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid.

“Our country will continue to assume responsibility for rebuilding Gaza, healing its wounds, and enabling our Palestinian brothers and sisters to look toward a peaceful and secure future. Türkiye will continue to stand with the oppressed, side with justice, and lead the cause of peace,” Duran added.

The Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit (also called the Gaza Peace Summit) was held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on October 13, 2025. It was co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and U.S. President Donald J. Trump. The main objectives were to solidify a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, ensure the release of hostages, jump-start humanitarian relief, and plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

The summit is part of a broader peace plan (sometimes described as a “20-point plan”) intended to end the Gaza conflict and create a lasting peace in the region. Another key aim is to rally international support and unify regional leaders behind recovery and political stability efforts for Gaza.
