Former deputy defence minister: Armenia may face Ukrainian scenario
Armenian former Deputy Defence Minister Artak Zakaryan has said that the current policy of the authorities will deprive Armenia of the external component of the security system, as the West will not protect Armenia.
“The position of being offended in the Collective Security Treaty Organisation [CSTO] and the search for new partners on security issues will be a waste of time for Armenia. Such a situation will result in very specific negative consequences for Armenia and the Ukrainian scenario may repeat here,” he said, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.
“Ado around the supply of Bastion armoured vehicles from France to Armenia is a farce. In reality, these processes cannot be considered an alternative to traditional sources of security, namely, military-political and military-technical cooperation with Russia,” Zakaryan added.
