Fuel prices rise in Moscow, following increase in diesel costs
A significant rise in motor fuel prices has been recorded in Moscow, with gasoline prices increasing after a previous surge in diesel costs, according to the Moscow Fuel Association (MTA).
Over the past week, the weighted average price of diesel fuel in Moscow rose by 56 kopecks to 78.49 rubles per litre, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The price of AI-92 gasoline increased by 24 kopecks to 64.67 rubles, while AI-95 rose by 35 kopecks to 71.46 rubles per litre.
The Moscow Fuel Association said the main driver of retail price increases was a sharp rise at private fuel stations operated by the “NeftMagistral” network. There, AI-92 gasoline jumped by 3 rubles at once to 67.4 rubles, while AI-95 and diesel prices increased by 5 rubles, reaching 76.29 and 83.68 rubles per litre, respectively.
At fuel stations owned by vertically integrated oil companies, price growth was slower. Diesel rose by 20 to 54 kopecks per litre, AI-92 increased by 13 kopecks (though at “Tatneft” stations the rise was more notable at 40 kopecks), and AI-95 went up by 9 kopecks.
Since the beginning of the year, fuel prices in Moscow have increased significantly, with AI-92 rising by 2.69 rubles per litre, AI-95 by 3.04 rubles, and diesel fuel by 2.79 rubles.
