Georgia calls remarks by Zelenskyy's advisor “insolent”
Georgian parliament Vice-Speaker Gia Volski has said that the statements voiced by the Ukrainian president’s advisor Mykhailo Podolyak about the Georgian authorities are impudent.
"We do not have a tank to give to Ukraine, but we have power generators and a certain resource for humanitarian aid. We have a resource to help the Ukrainian people living in Georgia... If after this Podolyak did not see the position of Georgia, we can assess his statement as impudence," he said, Sputnik Georgia reports.
In response to Podolyak's statement a member of the parliamentary majority Dimitri Khundadze said that "if populations of Georgia had elected their government with wisdom of Podolyak, there would not have been a peaceful policy in Georgia that we have today. He is convinced that the advisor is interfering in Georgia's internal affairs.
Earlier, Podolyak said that Kyiv "cannot agree on anything" with the current Georgian authorities. Podolyak said that the Georgian people made a huge mistake in its time, having elected such a government.
The Georgian Defence Ministry had earlier announced that Tbilisi had no intention to return Buk missile launchers, bought in 2008, to Ukraine.
Ukraine's Charge d'Affaires in Georgia Andriy Kasyanov said earlier that Kyiv had sent a request to Tbilisi to return the Buk surface-to-air missile systems, which were transferred during the hostilities in 2008.
