Georgia expels citizens of Russia, Iran, Türkiye In migration crackdown
Georgia has deported a group of foreign nationals, including citizens of Iran, Türkiye and Russia, following a series of migration checks carried out over the past few days.
The Interior Ministry said that officers from the Migration Department detained 28 people who were staying in the country illegally, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
Inspections were conducted both in residential properties where the individuals were living and at workplaces where some of them were employed.
Those detained included citizens of India, Iran, Sudan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, China, Kuwait and Russia.
The Interior Ministry confirmed that all of the individuals were residing in Georgia without legal grounds and have now been expelled from the country.
