Georgia voices key priorities at Antalya Diplomacy Forum, says FM

11 April 2025 16:19

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili has emphasized the importance of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum as a key platform for Georgia to address significant issues on the international stage.

Speaking about Georgia’s participation in the forum, Bochorishvili noted that it provides an essential opportunity for the country to raise important topics and discuss challenges aligned with its priorities, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.

She stated, "We are very interested in participating in this forum and we will use any opportunity to voice important issues for Georgia and discuss challenges related to our priorities. These priorities include EU integration, relations with EU member states, as well as recent approaches of some member states, politicians, and bureaucrats in Brussels. Georgia is a state that must be respected, as well as the choice of the Georgian people."

The 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, taking place from April 11 to 13, is held under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and hosted by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The forum has become a major platform for high-level dialogue, focusing on international cooperation and diplomatic engagement.

This year’s forum theme, "Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World," highlights the urgent need for diplomacy to adapt and address challenges arising from deepening geopolitical divisions, global inequality, intolerance, and the impacts of climate change. Forum organizers have stressed that the current international system has proven insufficient in responding to these complex issues, contributing to diminishing trust between nations and increasing strain on multilateral cooperation. In response, ADF2025 aims to explore ways in which diplomacy can evolve to foster constructive collective action in a highly fragmented world.

The event has attracted participation from over 20 heads of state and government, more than 50 foreign ministers, and over 70 other ministers, alongside around 60 senior representatives from international organizations. Approximately 4,000 participants, including academics, students, and civil society representatives, are attending the forum.

During the three-day event, more than 50 sessions are set to cover a range of topics. These will include regional issues such as those in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America, as well as pressing global concerns such as climate change, counterterrorism, humanitarian aid, food security, digitization, and artificial intelligence.
