Georgian Airways cancels transit flights from Tbilisi to Moscow via Yerevan
Georgian Airways, the national carrier of Georgia, cancelled flights between Tbilisi and Moscow in transit through Yerevan.
On May 16, Georgian Airways opened the sale of tickets for direct flights to Moscow, TASS reports, citing the airline.
"Yes, we have cancelled all transit flights after May 20," a representative of the airline told the agency.
At the same time, the company noted that it has not yet made a decision regarding the return of money to customers for tickets that were purchased on later dates.
Georgian Airways reported that now the commercial department is resolving the issue with the purchased tickets of the Armenian airline Air Dilijans for transit flights through Yerevan and passengers will receive information by the end of the day.
On May 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin lifted the ban on flights of Russian airlines to Georgia, which had been in effect since June 2019 and a visa-free regime was also re-introduced for Georgian citizens coming to Russia.
