Deputy speaker urges Armenians to back ruling party to ensure peace and stability
Deputy Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan has announced his decision to run in the 2026 parliamentary elections on the Civil Contract (CC) party’s proportional list, saying the vote will determine whether Armenia secures lasting peace or returns to the corruption of the past.
As reported by Caliber.Az, Rubinyan made the announcement in a post on his Facebook page, outlining his motivations for participating in the upcoming election.
“Yesterday, I also put forward my candidacy for inclusion in the proportional list of the GD party in the 2026 parliamentary elections,” he wrote.
Rubinyan explained that his decision was guided by two main objectives. “In the 2026 elections, we have a unique chance to guarantee long-term and irreversible peace — to ensure that our borders remain safe for decades, without fearing for the lives of our sons, brothers, fathers, and ourselves. Decades that we will dedicate to the economic development of our country,” he said.
He stressed that the outcome of the vote will directly determine Armenia’s future direction. “If CC wins, this chance will be taken. If not, it won’t be,” Rubinyan stated.
The deputy speaker also accused former officials of seeking a political comeback, saying their return would threaten Armenia’s progress. “The bribe-takers and thieves see the 2026 election as a chance to get back into power to continue doing what they love — pursuing their unionist dreams,” he said. “If CC wins, this chance will not be given to them; if not, it will. The choice is yours.”
