Haber Global: France's lobbying blitz against COP29 in Baku falls short
France, known for its hostility towards Azerbaijan, is attempting to undermine the COP29 climate conference taking place in Baku.
The article "The aim is to vilify Baku, France's target is the climate summit in Baku" published on the website of the Turkish TV channel Haber Global, Caliber.Az reports.
The author of the article Emre Ozturk writes that France was engaged in active lobbying activities, but these efforts were not successful.
According to the publication, Intelligence Online reported on the activities of the French lobbying organisation Havas, aimed at discrediting COP29.
As per information obtained by the global intelligence news outlet Intelligence Online (IO), Havas, one of France's most influential public relations and lobbying firms, has started working to undermine COP29.
Following a government request, the firm launched lobbying and advertising campaigns in Europe, Russia, and the United States, arguing that Azerbaijan, as a major oil and natural gas producer, should not host the summit. However, due to Azerbaijan's strong diplomatic and economic ties in the Caucasus region, France was unable to achieve its goal.
