I will fondly remember my tenure in Azerbaijan, outgoing Greek envoy says
Greek Ambassador to Azerbaijan Christos Kapodistrias expressed heartfelt appreciation for his time in Baku, noting that he would “fondly remember” his tenure as Greece’s representative. As he concluded his diplomatic mission, Kapodistrias met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and political dialogue across multiple spheres.
FM Bayramov commended Ambassador Kapodistrias for his valuable contributions to advancing Azerbaijani-Greek relations and wished him continued success in his future diplomatic endeavors, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, both sides praised the positive trajectory of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Greece. They underscored the significance of recent high-level engagements, particularly the meetings between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis— held during the COP29 International Climate Conference in Baku in November 2024 and on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2025.
The discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining an active political dialogue and expanding cooperation across a wide range of areas, including trade, investment, energy, transport, tourism, education, and culture.
