India expects trade with Russia to reach $70 billion
India expects bilateral trade with Russia to reach $70 billion in the 2026–2027 financial year, Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar has said.
Speaking at the Innoprom international industrial exhibition in Russia, Kumar noted that India's financial year runs from April to March, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"The most promising areas of our future cooperation are green energy, renewable energy, information technology, high technologies, industrial automation, agriculture and the food industry. Trends over the past three months indicate that we will reach $70 billion in bilateral trade during the current 2026–2027 financial year," the ambassador added.
According to him, the current pace of cooperation should enable the two countries to achieve $100 billion in bilateral trade by 2030.
Kumar further stated that the opening of India's Consulate General in Yekaterinburg in January reflects the growing ties between the two countries.
"More people are travelling between our countries, more companies and manufacturers are cooperating, and there is enormous demand for Indian culture. The Consulate General was opened to help meet all of these needs," he stressed.
